1. Introduction to Blister Packaging Process and Related Materials
1.1 Blister Packaging Process: The blister and the paper card coated with blister oil are pressed together. At the same time, the blister and the paper card are heated by electric heat or high-frequency waves. The softened blister and the melted blister oil are firmly bonded. After cooling, the blister, blister oil, and paper card form a whole, completing the blister packaging process.
1.2 Differences between PVC and PET Blister Materials:
PVC: The full name is polyvinyl chloride; it is semi-transparent in appearance, fragile and hard in texture, with a softening and melting temperature of 75-90℃, and extinguishes quickly when removed from the flame; it is not recyclable and leaves white marks when folded.
PET: The full name is polyethylene terephthalate; it is more transparent in appearance, flammable, shrinks near the flame, and continues to burn after leaving the flame; it is recyclable. On the other hand, the molecular structure of PET is different from that of PVC, and ordinary blister oil is difficult to adhere to it. Strong blister oil needs to be used in combination.
2. Requirements for the Blister Effect
2.1. Blister Effect Inspection: When tearing open the blister packaging, the paper damage should reach the base paper layer; the plastic film should lift the paper layer, and at this time, the paper breakage rate should be greater than 85%.
2.2. Functions of Blister Oil:
① Enhance the glossiness and wear resistance of printed materials like ordinary varnish.
② Have the function of re-adhesion after heating; meet the partial penetration requirement of blister oil.
2.3. Technical Requirements for Blister Paper Production:
- The coating strength should be higher than that of the base paper.
- The coating should have a certain porosity to ensure appropriate absorption of blister oil.
- Each layer between coatings and the base paper should have good adhesion.
- The strength between base paper fibers should be moderate.
