Paper is one of the important materials for printing books and periodicals, so it is very important to keep it well. The following matters should be noted when storing paper:
When transporting paper, do not throw it from a height down to avoid scattering pieces and damaging the paper. Don't stand the paper upright. Place it as flat as possible. The stack of roll paper should not be too high to avoid damaging the paper edges or cores. Stacking too high can also cause personal accidents. Iron hooks are prohibited during handling. The rolls of paper should be rolled and pushed as indicated by the arrows.
(2) Do not store it outdoors for too long. It should be transported to the warehouse for storage in time.
(3) Moisture-proof. Paper has a strong hygroscopicity and is highly sensitive to air humidity. The moisture content in paper varies with the humidity of the air, so it is necessary to store paper in a clean and dry place. When stacking papers, place them under your feet. Do not stack them close to the wall. The relative humidity in the warehouse and workshop where paper is stored is best maintained at 60% to 70%.
(4) Sun protection. Paper contains lignin and should be kept away from direct sunlight. After being exposed to the sun, the moisture in the paper evaporates, making the paper brittle or deformed. In severe cases, it cannot be printed on the machine.
(5) Heat protection. The temperature of paper should not be too high when it is stored. When the temperature exceeds 38℃, the strength of paper drops significantly. Especially coated paper will stick together and become waste. The temperature in the warehouse and workshop where paper is stored is preferably between 18 and 20 degrees Celsius.
(6) Anti-folding. When folding and stacking paper, it is absolutely necessary to avoid stacking it in three layers with one fold. When stacking, the four sides of the paper must not be staggered and protruding; otherwise, the protruding parts may crack, wrinkle or discolor. Therefore, the paper should be neatly stacked.
