The slicer determines the efficiency of using expensive wood in the pulping process. All the measures adopted before the slicing process and the purpose of the slicer itself are aimed at improving the quality of the wood chips and saving in the next processing step. Conversely, after slicing, the "maturation" process of the wood chips' quality can lead to waste of raw materials and energy consumption for the wood chips. Improve the structure of the slicer

Starting from the variable situation of log supply today, the Kone WoodTM slicer is designed to have a large production capacity while maximizing the slicing quality to the greatest extent. The company widened the inlet and outlet ports of the slicer, tilted the shaft of the slicer and rationalized the slicing Angle. These improvement measures ensure the uniformity of the shape and size of the wood chips, keeping the quality consistent during the slicing process.

 

Widen the width of the inlet and outlet ports at the bottom of the slicer to make it possible for the slicer to cut some small-diameter logs simultaneously. Unlike ordinary slicers, the logs cannot be turned over during the slicing process because its bottom knife blades can only slice within one layer of logs. The stability of logs during slicing can reduce the loss of fibers and minimize the number of overly large wood chips. Furthermore, the design of the discharge port can ensure a continuous feeding of logs for the high-capacity slicer.

Due to the inclination of the slicer shaft, the gap between the blade and the bottom blade can be adjusted to the minimum and remain unchanged during the slicing process. All these are conducive to ensuring the high quality of wood chips and the uniformity of the size distribution of wood chips, as well as reducing the damage between wood chips and wood fibers.

The influence of slicing speed and discharging method on the quality of wood chips

The ideal slicing speed is 25 to 30 meters per second, and slicing machines with high production capacity can achieve such a speed. The company has reduced the rotational speed of the slicer and increased the number of blades of the slicer. A lower rotational speed, an increase in the number of blades and an extension of the length of the wood chips mean that, under a certain production capacity, even when cutting small-diameter logs, the number of wood chips cut will be reduced. Maintaining the high quality of Wood chips also depends on the smooth and gentle discharge side of the Kone Wood slicer. The HQ-Quick Clamp is a hydraulically operated device for fastening blades and has the performance of extremely fast blade replacement. The blade is installed in a box-type fixture. When it is necessary to change the blade, the blade can be easily removed from the turntable and a new blade and its fixture can be reinstalled.
