Without further elaboration, let's start with sketch paper. Sketch paper is usually rough on one side and slightly smooth on the other (but never as smooth as card paper). The rough side is the front side. This is the side we use when drawing sketches. When a sheet of sketch paper is produced, it is a super large piece of paper, which is called full-sized paper. We cut it in half from the waist and divide it into two pieces of paper. The size of these two pieces of paper is called two-piece (also known as half-piece). Then it is divided in half, which is four-piece, and cut again, which is eight-piece. And so on, it is sixteen-piece, thirty-two-piece, and sixty-four-piece. Why not use the specific size but "open" instead?
