Double-coated (DC) offset paper-commonly referred to as "art paper" or "coated fine paper"-features pigment-coated surfaces on both sides to enhance smoothness, gloss, ink holdout, and dimensional stability. Per GB/T 1012–1991 (China National Standard for Offset Printing Paper), typical caliper ranges (in mm) are as follows:

a) Glossy Double-Coated Paper
- Premium Grade:
 50 g/m²: 0.071 mm 60 g/m²: 0.086 mm 70 g/m²: 0.100 mm
 80 g/m²: 0.114 mm 90 g/m²: 0.129 mm 120 g/m²: 0.171 mm
 150 g/m²: 0.214 mm 180 g/m²: 0.257 mm
- Grade 1 & Grade 2: Identical calipers to Premium Grade for corresponding basis weights.

b) Supercalendered (SC) Double-Coated Paper
- Type 1 & Type 2 (identical specifications):
 50 g/m²: 0.063 mm 60 g/m²: 0.075 mm 70 g/m²: 0.080 mm
 80 g/m²: 0.100 mm 90 g/m²: 0.113 mm 120 g/m²: 0.150 mm
 150 g/m²: 0.180 mm 180 g/m²: 0.225 mm

c) Single-Side Coated (SSC) Paper
- Type 1:
 40 g/m²: 0.073 mm 50 g/m²: 0.091 mm 60 g/m²: 0.109 mm
 70 g/m²: 0.127 mm 80 g/m²: 0.146 mm
- Type 2:
 40 g/m²: 0.080 mm 50 g/m²: 0.100 mm 60 g/m²: 0.120 mm
 70 g/m²: 0.140 mm 80 g/m²: 0.160 mm

Note: Caliper tolerances per GB/T 1012–1991 are ±0.005 mm for basis weights ≤120 g/m² and ±0.008 mm for heavier grades. Thickness may also be expressed in "threads" (a legacy unit equal to 0.0254 mm), though SI units are recommended for technical documentation.
